AMTECH OFFICERS

President/Executive Director:
Joseph J. De Marco is founder of AMTECH and the National Marine ServiceEXPO (NMSE) trade show. Joe entered the marine industry in 1982 as the co-founder for Rapair, Inc. Later the company established the RCS Computer Systems (later to become MSHOP Software Inc.), and CDI Electronics divisions. Working closely with marine technicians on troubleshooting engine problems, Mr. De Marco has long recognized the importance of proper education when dealing with engines using sophisticated new technology, and the need for proper management. He also realizes that without strong marine service, both technically and management wise, the industry cannot succeed. He conducts a workshop at NMSE, "Management Training for Marine Businesses". His strong desire to bring the marine service community together has prompted the start of AMTECH.

Prior to entering the marine industry, Mr. De Marco originally from New York, worked in the electronics industry as Vice President of a electronics company for eight years, and brings more than 25 years experience in sales and marketing to AMTECH. He now resides in the Atlanta, GA area.

Vice President:
David Eastwood is a seasoned certified marine technician. He is the Marine Propulsion Systems Instructor and Coordinator at Carteret Community College in Morehead City, North Carolina. He currently serves as AMTECH Vice President and Director for the association’s Education Committee. David has many years experience in the industry as a technician giving him a very clear understanding of what is needed to offer his students the best training for the real world. David’s program has attracted government agencies such as the U.S. Coast Guard, training their small watercraft engineers to maintain and repair their fleet of vessels. His program also receives large support from major marine engine manufacturers. They provide David with the latest technologies, enabling him to help his students to better understand their products, and provide the best service possible. In addition to his many certifications David is also a Certified Scuba Diver and a US Coast Guard Licensed Captain.
